The Lieutenant Governor of Jersey, Vice Admiral Sir Jeremy Kyd, has taken on the role of patron of the Jersey National Park.

The appointment has been welcomed by the trust behind the park, with chair Jim Hopley saying the organisation was "absolutely delighted" to have Sir Jeremy’s support.

Mr Hopley said: "We look forward to working with His Excellency on promoting the park and all the work that is done to support its aims."

The Jersey National Park covers more than 2,000 hectares of the island, protecting some of its most important landscapes while ensuring they remain accessible and enjoyed by residents and visitors.

Established to preserve Jersey’s natural environment, the park works to enhance the island’s countryside, coastline and heritage for current communities while safeguarding them for future generations.

Sir Jeremy’s appointment as patron is expected to support the trust’s ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the park and the role it plays in protecting Jersey’s unique environment.
