Children invited to help shape future of St Andrew’s Park

Children and young people are being invited to design the future of St Andrew’s Park as part of plans to refurbish the First Tower community space.

The Parish of St Helier is seeking ideas for how the popular park could be improved to better serve children, families, older residents, dog walkers and the wider community, while preserving its trees, historic character and the Dolmen de Ville-ès-Nouaux.

A design competition has been launched with categories ranging from early years through to young adults aged 25. Schools, youth groups and whole classes can also submit collective designs, while a separate video challenge is open to all ages.

Winners will be invited to a celebration at the Town Hall in November.

The parish is also holding three public drop-in sessions as part of the wider consultation:

• Saturday 12 September, 10am–12pm — First Tower Youth & Community Centre

• Thursday 17 September, 5pm–6.30pm — St Andrew’s Church

• Wednesday 7 October, 5pm–6.30pm — First Tower Youth & Community Centre

The consultation will help shape the initial design, with residents expected to have a further opportunity to comment before plans are finalised.
