A Jersey charity says it has seen a sharp rise in donations as more residents prepare to leave the island.
Care and Relief for the Young (CRY) Jersey reported an increase in house clearances and a surge of second-hand goods arriving at its shop. General manager Elk Hargreaves said the workload meant more volunteers were urgently needed.
She added that vintage clothing is attracting younger shoppers, while rising living costs are also driving people to buy second-hand.
The shop is taking part in Second Hand September, a nationwide campaign promoting re-use over buying new.
