Teacher Calls for Better Workplace Support for Women's Health
A teacher with endometriosis has praised her employer’s support and urged other workplaces to be more aware of women’s health issues.
Rebecca Bailey, who has suffered from the condition for 20 years, said flexible working at St Mary’s Primary School significantly improved her productivity and well-being. She previously struggled with severe pain, fatigue, and isolation at work.
Headteacher Maria Stegenwalner emphasised the importance of flexibility, stating that while the school lacks a formal period policy, its approach accommodates individual needs.
Endometriosis affects millions of women, often leading to work disruptions. Bailey hopes more employers will adopt supportive measures to help women thrive in the workplace.
