Telecoms provider Sure has been formally recognised as one of the region’s leading employers after securing certification from Great Place to Work, a globally respected authority on workplace culture.

The accolade places the company among a select group of organisations in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man to achieve the standard, which is based entirely on employee feedback. The certification process evaluates trust, inclusivity and overall workplace experience through a detailed staff survey and independent culture audit.

Sure’s HR Director, Lucienne De La Mare, described the achievement as a landmark moment for the business. She said a supportive environment enables staff to thrive professionally, ultimately improving service for customers throughout the islands.

Staff feedback highlighted the company’s responsiveness to employee input and ongoing efforts to enhance working life at every stage of a career with the firm.

“111 learning pledge”

Professional development remains a key priority. Over the past year, employees logged close to 5,000 hours of training using platforms including Percipio and Pluralsight, alongside an in-house artificial intelligence skills initiative. The company’s “111 learning pledge” which guarantees weekly development time for all staff - has supported a rise in industry-recognised qualifications in areas such as cloud computing, cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

Investment in workforce skills accompanies Sure’s broader digital and infrastructure upgrades, with the company emphasising that highly trained staff are essential to delivering dependable, future-ready services.

Group Chief Executive Alistair Beak said the certification reflects the company’s long-term strategy of putting employees at the centre of its operations, alongside continued spending on wellbeing programmes and next-generation connectivity.

He added that strengthening workplace culture is key to building an organisation capable of meeting the evolving needs of communities across the region.
