This November, Charles Dickens’ timeless Christmas tale comes alive with a uniquely Jersey flavour at the beautifully preserved Georgian House and Museum on 16 New Street.

The National Trust for Jersey is delighted to host Jersey Youth Performing Arts (JYPA) for a series of immersive performances of “A Jersey Christmas Carol” on Friday 21st, Saturday 22nd, and Sunday 23rd November. Audiences will encounter a cast of memorable characters from late 19th-century St. Helier, including the miserly Philippe Journeaux, his mistreated clerk Bob Crapaud, the kind-hearted P’tit Pierre, and many others.

“A fun, spooky retelling of the well-known tale.”

Visitors will be guided through the historic Georgian House, discovering the young performers as they bring familiar scenes to life, infused with a touch of Jerriais Christmas magic. Rachel Maguire, JYPA committee member and director of the production, describes the show as “a fun, spooky retelling of the well-known tale.”

The experience includes sing-alongs with traditional Christmas carols, encounters with the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, laughter at Jurat de Ste Croix’s festive ball, and a chance to pick up some colourful local Jerriais phrases.

Tickets go on sale from Friday 24th October via Eventbrite. Families are encouraged to join the adventure of Ebenezer Scrooge’s transformation in this one-of-a-kind production. Due to some mildly spooky scenes, the performance is recommended for children aged 8 and over.
