Bubbletecture: Immersive Art Installation to Transform St Helier This Summer

St Helier is set to be transformed by a dazzling and immersive temporary art installation this summer, according to local charity ArtHouse Jersey.

The installation, titled Bubbletecture, will feature a spectacular display of iridescent spheres, each reaching up to 8 metres high. Created by Sydney-based artists Atelier Sisu, the artwork is designed to respond to sunlight throughout the day, casting rainbow reflections across the ground and accompanied by a specially composed soundtrack.

The event is free and open to all, with the installation taking over the public space around IFC2 on the Esplanade from 28 August to 14 September. Organisers promise a “glowing, playful wonderland” that invites both locals and visitors to experience art in a joyful, accessible way.

Running daily from 09:30 to 21:30 BST, Bubbletecture will also feature magical lighting effects and host a programme of free cultural and wellbeing events every weekend.

“This is a piece anyone can enjoy — no explanations needed,” said ArtHouse Jersey Director Tom Dingle. “Bubbletecture is about wonder, joy, and togetherness. It’s designed to bring delight and surprise to shared public spaces.”

The project is delivered in partnership with the Jersey Development Company and sponsored by Butterfield.

Lee Henry, CEO of the Jersey Development Company, added: “Bubbletecture offers more than just a visually striking installation — it brings creative energy to the heart of town and invites islanders to see a familiar space through a new lens. While temporary, it reflects our long-term commitment to thoughtful placemaking and the integration of culture into Jersey’s evolving urban landscape.”
