Lieutenant Governor of Jersey Knighted in King’s Birthday Honours

Vice Admiral Jeremy Kyd, the Lieutenant Governor of Jersey, has been awarded a knighthood in the King’s Birthday Honours announced by King Charles III.

Vice Admiral Kyd has been named a Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) in recognition of his service to the Bailiwick of Jersey and the Royal Navy. Jersey’s Bailiff, Sir Timothy Le Cocq, praised Kyd’s “exemplary” conduct in office, calling the honour “entirely worthy.”

In addition to Vice Admiral Kyd, four other Jersey residents have been recognised for their contributions to the island community.

Ian Gallichan, Chief Executive of Andium Homes, has been appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his dedication to social housing and public service.

Collette Crill and James Mews have each been made Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). Jurat Crill was honoured for her long-standing commitment to justice, human rights, and community service. Mr. Mews was recognised for his leadership in the arts as chairman of Music in Action.

Sarah Haycock has received the British Empire Medal (BEM) for her work with the Teenage Cancer Trust and her ongoing service to the community.

The King’s Honours celebrate the achievements of individuals across the UK and overseas territories, acknowledging outstanding public service and community contributions.
