Jersey travel numbers rise as airport sees 4.5% increase in passengers

More than 158,000 passengers travelled through Jersey Airport in July, according to the latest figures from Ports of Jersey.

The total represents a 4.5% increase compared with July 2025. Ferry passenger numbers at Jersey’s harbour also rose, increasing by 2% over the same period.

Ports of Jersey described the airport figures as an “important milestone for connectivity”, highlighting increased flight options between the island and mainland Europe.

There were as many as six flights a week to France during July, while KLM increased its Amsterdam service from once a week to daily flights.

Paul Holley, head of connectivity at Ports of Jersey, said the greater choice of travel options during the summer was “particularly welcome”.

He said the additional services would give both islanders and visitors more opportunities to travel to and from Jersey.

Harbour passenger numbers also showed continued growth, with more than 68,000 people travelling through the port during July.

“We're pleased to see the positive start to the summer season continue into July with more than 68,000 passengers traveling through the harbour, driven by demand from island residents and visitors alike,” Holley said.

The latest figures follow a strong start to the year for Jersey’s tourism industry.

Visit Jersey previously reported that the number of overnight leisure visitors during the year to June was 13% higher than during the same period in 2025.

Visit Jersey chief executive Tricia Warwick described the figures as a “really positive story”, pointing to increased flight availability and additional capacity on Jet2 services as factors supporting visitor numbers.

The popularity of the crime drama Bergerac may also be helping to attract tourists to the island.

Warwick said research carried out by Visit Jersey found that people who had watched the series were three times more likely to consider visiting Jersey.
