Jersey to Raise Passport and Immigration Fees from June

Passport and immigration fees in Jersey are set to rise next month, bringing them in line with recent changes implemented in the UK.

From 1 June, the cost of a standard adult passport will increase to £107, up from £100. For children, the price of a standard passport will go up by £5 to £74. Fees for skilled worker permits will also see a notable rise, increasing by £58 to a total of £885. Meanwhile, the cost for student immigration applications will rise by £34, bringing the new total to £524.

According to the Department of Justice and Home Affairs, the adjustments mirror fee hikes introduced by the UK government in April.

Officials also confirmed that the increases will affect a broader range of immigration-related services, including fees for British nationals, investors, and those applying for temporary work permits.

Adult passports remain valid for up to 10 years, while children’s passports are valid for five years.

The government is urging islanders to check their passport expiry dates before traveling. “If your passport is nearing its expiration, review the entry rules for your destination,” the States advised. “Some countries require a minimum validity period remaining on your passport based on the length of your stay.”
