Young Islanders Gear Up for Jersey Kids' Triathlon in Support of Blood Cancer Charity

This weekend, dozens of children across Jersey will lace up their trainers, hop on their bikes, and dive into the pool for the annual Jersey Kids' Triathlon — all in support of the fight against blood cancer.

Hosted at Les Quennevais Sports Centre in St Brelade, the event invites young participants aged six to 13 to take part in a fun and inclusive triathlon. The challenge includes swimming, cycling, and running, with distances tailored to each age group to ensure accessibility and enjoyment.

Organisers have emphasised the non-competitive spirit of the day, describing it as a "fun sporting event" where "there are no winners and losers – only achievers." Every child who completes the triathlon will receive a special event t-shirt, a medal, and a goody bag filled with surprises.

Participants in Years 2 and 3 will face a 25-metre swim, a 1.5km bike ride, and a 600-metre run. Older children in Years 6 to 8 will take on a 100-metre swim, 4.5km of cycling, and a 1.2km run.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Jersey branch of Blood Cancer UK, supporting vital research and patient services.
