Jersey-Guernsey ferry crossings cancelled until 10 September

Ferry passengers travelling between Jersey and Guernsey face further disruption after an engine failure forced the suspension of the regular service.
Islands Unlimited, which operates the daily foot passenger route between the islands, said the MV San Pawl had suffered a major failure involving its starboard main engine.
The operator initially suspended sailings while engineers inspected the vessel and assessed the extent of the damage.
The company has now confirmed that all passenger services scheduled up to and including 10 September have been cancelled. A decision on sailings beyond that date will be made once further assessments have been completed.
The MV San Pawl had completed successful trials in May to determine whether the vessel could also be used on services to Alderney.
Islands Unlimited said the suspension was necessary to protect passengers, crew and the vessel while repairs are carried out.
The operator apologised for the disruption and said customers affected by the cancellations would receive a full refund.
It added that its team was continuing to work on resolving the problem and restoring a safe and reliable service as soon as possible.
