Jersey’s low-carbon heating incentive scheme has been extended until 2030, giving homeowners and businesses further opportunities to make their properties more energy-efficient.

The government has confirmed that property owners can apply for up to £9,000 in matched funding to install an air source heat pump, or up to £4,000 towards other approved low-carbon heating technologies.

Households on low incomes may qualify for grants of up to £15,000 without needing to provide matching funds.

The scheme aims to help islanders reduce their heating costs, cut carbon emissions and prepare their homes for a more sustainable future.

Environment Minister Mary Le Hegarat said the extension would provide greater certainty for homeowners and businesses investing in more efficient heating systems.

Hundreds of islanders have already benefited from the incentive by installing low-carbon heating, according to government officials.

The extension forms part of Jersey’s wider carbon neutral roadmap, which includes a range of measures designed to reduce the island’s emissions.

However, not all support schemes will continue. Islanders have been reminded that applications for an electric vehicle charger incentive and grants for energy audits must be submitted by 11:59 on 13 December.

Le Hegarat said some initiatives were ending as originally planned, while others would remain in place to support long-term reductions in emissions as the roadmap entered its next phase.
