Jersey Airport is preparing for a significant increase in passenger traffic this summer, with Ports of Jersey forecasting more flights to and from the island than during the same period last year.

Officials said this weekend is expected to rank among the airport’s busiest of 2026, driven by airlines strengthening their services and introducing additional routes.

According to Ports of Jersey, carriers including Loganair, KLM and Jet2 have expanded their offerings while continuing to support existing connections, resulting in a 7% rise in scheduled flights compared with last year.

The organisation also welcomed the return of EasyJet’s Jersey to London Southend service, describing it as a sign of continued confidence in the island’s travel market from both airlines and passengers.

Despite wider concerns surrounding aviation fuel supplies linked to the ongoing Iran-US conflict, EasyJet said its summer operations would not be disrupted.

Speaking to the BBC on Thursday, the airline’s chief executive Kenton Jarvis reassured customers there were no issues with fuel availability and encouraged travellers to continue booking flights as normal.

EasyJet added that demand for its Jersey services remained consistent with previous years and confirmed there were currently no plans to alter its flight schedule to the island.

Meanwhile, ferry operator DFDS reported an increase in bookings since the Iran-US conflict began in February. A spokesperson said the company was monitoring demand closely and could introduce additional sailings if necessary.
