cologist Amy Hall Named New Chair of Jersey Heritage Trust
Jersey Heritage Trust has appointed ecologist and heritage advocate Amy Hall as the new chair of its board of trustees. Hall, who previously served as vice-chair, takes on the role following the passing of former chair Simon Boas last year.
Hall, an expert in small mammals and bats, is the director of research and training at Sangan Island. Reflecting on her appointment, she described it as a "bittersweet" moment. "Simon is greatly missed, both as chair and as a friend. I only hope I can do justice to the role as he did," she said.
Seeking New Trustees
Her appointment comes as Jersey Heritage Trust is actively seeking new trustees to join its board. An information event for prospective candidates will be held at Jersey Museum on Wednesday, 12 February, at 17:30 GMT.
"We are looking for people who share our vision for Jersey Heritage Trust to be an inspirational guardian and champion of our island’s rich and varied history," Hall said. "This is an exciting opportunity for those passionate about Jersey’s heritage, particularly individuals with governance experience and skills that can add value to our board."
Trustees serve on a voluntary basis for an initial term of three years. Their responsibilities include overseeing governance, shaping the trust’s strategic direction, and ensuring responsible use of public funds provided by the States of Jersey.
Hall has been involved with Jersey Heritage Trust since 2020 and has also worked with the National Trust for Jersey and the Société Jersiaise, where she helped catalogue natural history collections.
