Jersey Gas, trading as Island Energy, has entered a plea of not guilty to a charge under the island’s health and safety legislation, appearing at the Magistrate's Court.
"Ensure the health and safety of persons not in their employment, including the public."
The company faces a single allegation under Article 21 of the Health and Safety at Work (Jersey) Law 1989, accused of failing to "ensure the health and safety of persons not in their employment, including the public."
The charge stems from an investigation by the Health and Safety Inspectorate into an explosion at a Mont Pinel property in St Saviour in June 2024.
The matter has now been referred to the Royal Court, with the next hearing scheduled for 6 February 2026.
