Festive Tree Festival Returns to Celebrate Jersey’s Charities
Jersey’s charities are being encouraged to get creative this December as the St Peter’s Christmas Tree Festival prepares to return for another year of festive celebration.
Running from 6 to 17 December, the event invites local organisations to decorate Christmas trees with ornaments that showcase their work, values, and community impact.
Organisers said the festival serves as a unique platform for charities to raise awareness of their causes while spreading seasonal cheer.
The 2024 festival drew over 5,000 visitors and featured 110 decorated trees, attracting groups ranging from schoolchildren to residents of care homes.
The Reverend Robert Harris, rector of St Peter’s Church, said the festival has become a cherished highlight of Jersey’s festive season.
“In recent years, it’s grown into an important community event that brings people together in a spirit of creativity and generosity,” he said.
Participants can use either real or artificial trees and are encouraged to make their displays as imaginative as possible.
“We love seeing how each group’s decorations reflect their life and work — it adds something truly special to the event,” organisers added.
