Aquasplash to close for two weeks for essential maintenance

Jersey's Aquasplash leisure centre will temporarily shut for two weeks from Monday 30 November to allow essential maintenance and safety upgrades.

The government, which recently took control of the facility, said the work would include replacing a critical electronic control panel to ensure the centre can continue operating safely.

Other improvements will include installing a new water tank, extensive plumbing work, replacing ageing pipes and upgrading the fire alarm system.

The government said the investment would help secure the centre's long-term operation and reduce the likelihood of unexpected closures.

Aquasplash is expected to reopen on Monday 14 December.

Additional classes are being arranged at other Active facilities to support members during the shutdown.

Anyone with questions about membership or the closure can email active@gov.je or call 449888.

This will be the centre's second temporary closure since late September, when it shut for approximately a week after legionella bacteria was discovered in some water outlets.
