Authorities have also warned of risks from falling trees, debris, and hazardous travel conditions, urging residents to avoid unnecessary journeys and stay away from coastal areas.
The UK Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for strong winds in Northern Ireland, southwest Scotland, and parts of England and Wales, with gusts of up to 80mph (129km/h) along the coasts. Aurigny Airlines has offered customers the option to reschedule flights free of charge due to potential travel disruptions over the weekend.
While heavy rain is expected, forecasters predict less flooding compared to last month’s Storm Bert. Jersey residents are advised to report blocked routes caused by fallen trees to Infrastructure and Environment Operations or parish duty officers.
