Swastika Graffiti Found at St Helier Primary School in Series of Vandalism Incidents
A swastika was spray-painted on the door of Helvetia Primary School in St Helier, prompting a police investigation into a string of vandalism incidents across the town.
From 07:30 BST, officers began receiving multiple reports of offensive Nazi symbols appearing in various locations, including West Park and People's Park. Buildings, doors, and vehicles were among the property targeted with graffiti.
Police said they responded to incidents where possible and are urging anyone with information—especially CCTV footage—to come forward.
'No Place for Hate'
Chief Minister Deputy Lyndon Farnham condemned the acts, saying he was "deeply disturbed" by the nature of the graffiti.
"These acts do not reflect who we are as a community, and I condemn them in the strongest possible terms," he said. "Jersey is an inclusive, tolerant and respectful society. There is no place here for messages of hate or division."
Calling the graffiti a "cowardly and destructive act," Mr Farnham added: "Now more than ever, we must stand together as a community, united in our diversity and proud of the strength it brings."
He urged islanders to uphold the inclusive spirit that defines Jersey.
The Infrastructure and Environment Department has been informed and confirmed that the graffiti will be removed.
