Tragic Two-Vehicle Collision in St Brelade Claims Life of 78-Year-Old Driver

A 78-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle collision in St Brelade on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Route des Genêts at approximately 2:50 PM following reports of a crash near the Silver Springs Care Home. The sustained impact resulted in one of the drivers being rushed to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. No other hospitalizations were reported from the scene.

Following the incident, law enforcement officials closed the busy thoroughfare between Mont Sohier and Petite Route des Mielles for several hours to allow collision investigators to examine the scene.

A spokesperson for the States of Jersey Police confirmed that an active investigation into the exact cause of the crash is underway. Specialist officers have been deployed to support the victim's family during this time.
