Tiny Seeds Launches ‘The Birds and the Bees’ for Fertility Awareness Week
Local fertility charity Tiny Seeds has unveiled a new campaign, The Birds and the Bees, sharing the deeply personal stories of islanders navigating the challenges of fertility and family building.
The campaign, launched to coincide with Fertility Awareness Week (3–7 November), centres on a series of short films that give voice to those whose journeys to parenthood have taken unexpected turns.
Each film explores a different aspect of fertility and emotional wellbeing. “Words Matter” highlights the impact of casual comments and questions that can unintentionally cause pain, while “Man Talk” focuses on the importance of open conversations about men’s experiences with fertility struggles.
Some of the stories end with the joy of new beginnings, while others confront the reality of living a different life than planned — all offering a raw, honest look at an issue that affects one in six people.
Chloé Fosse, Governor and Operations Manager at Tiny Seeds, said the charity hopes the campaign will help break the silence surrounding fertility challenges.
“Facing a struggle to bring home a baby can be heartbreaking and isolating,” she said. “Too often, people experience this in silence. Through greater awareness, we want to change perceptions and encourage wider support. This year’s theme — Every Voice, Every Journey — reminds us that everyone’s path is unique, and every story matters.”
Christina Gates, who shares her story as part of the campaign, spoke about the emotional weight of infertility:
“Being childless not by choice is heartbreaking. Every day you face reminders of what you long for. Tiny Seeds provides compassion, care, and reassurance that no one has to face this alone.”
Through The Birds and the Bees, Tiny Seeds hopes to spark open conversations across the island — replacing stigma with empathy and silence with understanding.
