Engineers upgrading Jersey’s sewer system expect to complete the work by the end of the year. The project, which began in September at Lower Park, involves installing a new pipe beneath Victoria Avenue to improve surface water drainage and reduce flooding.
According to the government, the upgrades are designed to expand the sewage system’s capacity, supporting future housing developments and accommodating the island’s new hospital.
Tom Le Gallais, the government’s lead engineer, highlighted the project’s importance in safeguarding the sewage system for the future and enhancing its resilience against more extreme weather conditions.
