The Red Arrows are set to take part in this year’s Jersey International Air Display, organizers have confirmed.

Mike Higgins, the event organiser, announced that the renowned RAF aerobatic display team will headline the show on September 11.

Last year, the Red Arrows were absent from the event due to scheduling conflicts, but their return is expected to be a major highlight.

Squadron Leader Jon Bond, who leads the nine-jet team as Red 1, described performing in the Channel Islands as a particularly special experience.

In addition to their Jersey appearance, the Red Arrows will also take to the skies at the Guernsey Air Display on September 10. This year’s Guernsey show will be held in the evening for the first time, running from 18:30 to 20:00 BST.

Sqn Ldr Bond expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming displays, stating: "The Red Arrows are busy preparing for our 61st display season, and we’re thrilled to be returning to the Channel Islands to perform a new show for audiences in Guernsey and Jersey. We always receive a fantastic response from the crowds, and with the stunning coastal backdrops, it’s a truly special place to fly."

In another exciting addition, Higgins confirmed that a Typhoon jet will also be featured in Jersey’s four-hour display event.

Looking ahead, Higgins said he hopes to restore the air display to its former prestige, recalling how the event won the title of Best European Air Show in 2013.

Last year’s Jersey display included performances over St Aubin’s Bay by the RAF Falcons parachute team, a Fairey Swordfish biplane, and a PBY Catalina flying boat. With the return of the Red Arrows and other key attractions, this year’s show promises to be an unmissable spectacle.
