Islanders are being invited to view revised proposals for the future of Fort Regent at a public exhibition later this month.
The Government of Jersey, alongside the States of Jersey Development Company (SoJDC), will present the updated designs at the Pomme d'Or Hotel on 14 April at 17:30.
The latest plans follow extensive public consultation. An independent survey in 2021 gathered feedback from more than 2,500 people, while a further consultation last year attracted responses from over 6,000 islanders, with many expressing strong support for the refined proposals.
Officials say the exhibition will demonstrate how community feedback has shaped the evolving vision for the site, which includes a large indoor public atrium featuring a high industrial-style ceiling, exposed metal beams, and a central wood-clad structure surrounded by open gathering spaces.
Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan said the redevelopment had been guided by a long-term approach. He added: “Our work on Fort Regent has been driven by a commitment to deliver a financially sustainable community asset. These plans will breathe new life into this strategic site, and we look forward to presenting them and discussing them with islanders.”
Lee Henry, representing SoJDC, described Fort Regent as an important part of the island’s identity. He said: “Fort Regent is an iconic part of Jersey’s landscape, and islanders have made it clear what they want it to become. We’re pleased to share a vision that protects the fort’s heritage while creating an accessible and vibrant destination for future generations.”
