Prince Louis marks eighth birthday with newly released holiday video

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a new video of Prince Louis enjoying a beach day in Cornwall to celebrate his eighth birthday.
The clip shows the young royal in a wetsuit splashing in the sea, digging in the sand, playing cricket, and running along the shoreline. Filmed earlier this month by photographer Matt Porteous, the footage was posted online with a message thanking well-wishers and adding: “8 is great!”
A new photograph from the same holiday was also released, showing Louis smiling aboard a boat with the sea behind him, dressed in a blue zip-up jumper with his arms folded. The image was shared on the couple’s social media accounts with the caption: “Happy birthday, Louis! 8 today!”
Porteous, who has previously worked with the family on several occasions, including Louis’s christening and past birthday portraits, captured both the video and photo.
Born on 23 April 2018 at St Mary’s Hospital in London, Prince Louis is the youngest of the Waleses’ three children and fourth in line to the throne. While he is rarely seen at official engagements, he often appears at major royal events and is known for his playful personality.
