Police have begun inquiries after a reported attempted robbery involving a knife in St Brelade.
Jersey Police said the incident is believed to have taken place at a ground-floor property on La Route de la Haule at about 17:35 on Saturday 7th February. According to officers, a man knocked on the door and asked for car keys while holding what was described as a small knife.
The occupant closed and locked the door immediately, preventing the suspect from entering the property. No injuries were reported.
Police said officers arrived within 11 minutes of the report and have described the incident as isolated. They added that efforts are ongoing to identify the suspect and reassured the public that the matter is being treated seriously.
The man is described as wearing a black jacket with the hood up, grey loose-fitting jogging bottoms, and black boots or trainers. He was also carrying a dark rucksack with white detailing, believed to be possibly Adidas.
Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time, or motorists with dashcam footage from La Route de la Haule between 17:00 and 18:00, to come forward.
