Planning permission has been granted for a new parking area at Palm Grove Farmhouse in La Pouquelaye after an independent planning inspector recommended the proposal be approved.

The application, submitted by Helen Romeril, was originally refused by the former Planning Committee in January. However, following an appeal, planning inspector Sue Bell concluded the development would not harm the character of the nearby Vallée des Vaux and would respect the area's landscape.

Planning Minister Sir Mark Boleat accepted the inspector's recommendation and approved the scheme, subject to five conditions and a planning obligation agreement.

Among the conditions is a requirement for detailed hard and soft landscaping plans to be approved before construction can begin.
