Families will soon have a new indoor play option as a children’s soft play centre, Tintos, prepares to open its doors on Jersey’s Waterfront on 1 October.

The venue, housed in the former Arcadia and WYSIWYG building, will take the place of the Fort Regent play zone, which is closing on 29 September to make way for the leisure centre’s £110m redevelopment.

Funded through profits from Jersey Development Company’s College Garden housing project, the new facility will be operated independently by a local business. Designed for children aged 0–12, it features a wide range of activities including a baby zone, sensory play, slides, climbing walls, ropes, bridges and crawl-through tunnels. A café and dedicated party area are also part of the new offering.

Lee Henry, chief executive of the JDC, said the opening marks an important step in reshaping leisure facilities across the island:

“We’re delighted to see the transformation of this space at the Waterfront into a new family-focused amenity. Tintos Soft Play is just one part of the government’s relocation of activities from Fort Regent to enable its much-needed regeneration.”

The centre will welcome visitors seven days a week, opening 9am–5pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am–6pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
