Jersey Opera House Seeks New Chief Ahead of Grand Reopening After a five-year closure and a £12.7m government-funded refurbishment, Jersey’s historic Opera House will reopen this autumn — but first it needs a new chief executive.

The role, advertised with a salary of up to £90,000, will oversee both the artistic and commercial direction of the 1900-built theatre. Interim chair Laura Robertson said the successful candidate would help shape “Jersey’s cultural identity and legacy,” bringing ambition and vision to the island’s flagship venue.

The new leader will be tasked with re-establishing the Opera House as a creative hub, with programming ranging from West End productions to community festivals and education projects.

The curtain rises again on 3 October with ENCORE! Welcome Home, a specially commissioned show featuring more than 100 local performers. The first season will also see The Rat Pack at Christmas, an ABBA tribute act, and a performance by Chesney Hawkes.

Applications for the post close on 5 September.
