A 59-year-old man has been told he could face a custodial sentence after admitting possession of cannabis resin and breaching a court order.
Paul Anthony Louis appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and pleaded guilty to possessing five pieces of the Class B drug earlier this year, as well as breaching bail conditions.
The court heard that police became involved after a report was made by a member of the public who believed they had seen a suspected drug transaction.
Louis has a previous conviction for importing drugs and was already on bail at the time of the latest offence.
Relief Magistrate David Le Cornu requested a pre-sentence report and warned Louis that a prison sentence was among the options being considered.
He was released on bail and will return to court in September for sentencing.
