Jersey woman, 78, named after fatal St Brelade road crash

A 78-year-old woman who died following a collision in Jersey has been named locally as Linda O’Brien, who was known as Margaret.

She was taken to hospital after the crash on Route des Genêts in St Brelade at around 2:50pm on Sunday but later died from her injuries.

States of Jersey Police have confirmed that an investigation is continuing under the direction of a specialist collision investigator, with officers examining all possible lines of inquiry.

Police also said the other motorist involved is cooperating with enquiries and is currently assisting as a key witness.

A spokesperson for the force said they were unable to release further details at this stage, adding that their thoughts are with Margaret’s family and friends as they come to terms with their loss.
