Islanders can look forward to another spell of very warm weather today, with forecasters predicting sunshine mixed with high cloud and temperatures reaching around 30°C across Jersey.
The warm conditions are expected to continue throughout the day, making it one of the hottest periods of the summer so far. Overnight temperatures will remain close to 20°C, offering little relief from the daytime heat.
Health officials are reminding residents to take sensible precautions, particularly older people, young children and those with underlying health conditions. Staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged periods in direct sunshine during the afternoon and checking on vulnerable neighbours are all advised during hot weather.
The settled conditions are expected to continue into Friday, when temperatures could edge even higher before easing slightly over the weekend, although it will remain warm with plenty of sunshine.
The hot spell comes as much of southern Britain experiences unusually high July temperatures, with meteorologists forecasting above-average conditions across the region.
