The cost of living in Jersey increased by 2.8% in the year to June 2026, with sharp rises in fuel prices driving much of the increase.

Figures from Statistics Jersey’s latest Retail Prices Index show that heating oil and other fuels rose by 53.5% over the 12-month period, while petrol and oil prices increased by 18%.

The price survey was carried out between 29 May and 19 June 2026, during ongoing military action linked to the Iran conflict, which began on 28 February.

Several areas contributed to the rise in annual inflation, including household services, fuel and light, motoring and food.

Food prices were 3.5% higher than a year earlier, adding further pressure to household budgets.
