Jersey flights disrupted by UK air traffic control fault

Passengers travelling between Jersey and the UK have faced cancellations and delays after a technical problem affected UK air traffic control services.

Several flights have been disrupted today, 8 September, with travellers advised to check directly with their airline for the latest information before heading to the airport.

NATS, which manages the UK's air traffic control services, said engineers were investigating the problem.

A spokesperson said the technical issue was "causing some disruption to flight departures" and confirmed that engineers were on site working to resolve it.

The organisation apologised to passengers for the disruption and urged them to contact their airline for updates on individual flights.

Among the services cancelled are the 15:30 flight from Jersey to Southampton, the 17:25 service from the East Midlands to Jersey and the 17:40 flight from Southampton to Jersey.

Further delays or cancellations could occur while the technical issue is being addressed.
