Average earnings in Jersey increased by 1.2% in real terms in the year to June 2026, according to the latest figures from Statistics Jersey.

The data shows earnings per full-time equivalent employee were 4.1% higher in June 2026 than a year earlier. Once inflation is taken into account, however, the increase was 1.2%.

The annual rise was below the five-year average of 5.6% and also slightly below the long-term average of 4.2% recorded between 1991 and 2025.

The figures also show a difference between the public and private sectors. Over the latest 12-year period, real-terms earnings increased by 2.9% in the public sector and by 0.9% in the private sector.

Looking over a longer 25-year period, the trend is reversed. Real-terms earnings in the public sector fell by 3%, while private-sector earnings increased by 1.2%.

Statistics Jersey said the figures were based on earnings information gathered through a large, representative survey of employers, alongside data from all Government of Jersey departments.

This is the fourth year that employers have been legally required to complete the survey.
