New Interactive Map Highlights St Helier’s Evolving Landscape

Islanders can now explore how St Helier is changing through a new interactive digital map, launched by the Government of Jersey to improve public understanding of ongoing and future development in the town.

Titled Mapping Change and Investment in St Helier, the tool brings together details of completed, current, and planned construction projects. Officials say the aim is to provide residents, businesses, and policymakers with a clearer view of how the island's capital is evolving.

The map is available online and can also be accessed via three interactive touchscreens installed at key locations: the Town Hall, Jersey Library, and the Government Office on Union Street.

Constable Andy Jehan, Minister for Infrastructure, said the map was designed to place important information at the public’s fingertips and to strengthen awareness of strategic planning in St Helier.

“This initiative is about helping islanders, investors, and decision-makers understand the broader vision for the town and the positive changes that are already under way,” he said.

The tool incorporates both public and private sector projects and will be regularly updated as new developments are announced. According to officials, the map is part of a wider government effort to make planning information more transparent and accessible.

“It’s designed to encourage people to engage with the town’s transformation,” a government spokesperson said. “By bringing everything together in one place, it shows what’s happening, where it’s happening, and why it matters.”

The map, they added, reflects a commitment to inclusive and open communication around the island’s urban development.
