A general practitioner has admitted to issuing fraudulent prescriptions.

Dr Henry Jerzy Juchniewicz, 60, of Jersey, previously worked at Cleveland Clinic for more than two decades.

At an initial hearing in the Jersey Magistrate's Court, he pleaded guilty to three counts of making false prescriptions. Prosecutors told the court the offences occurred over a five-year span.

He was granted bail and is due to return for sentencing at the Royal Court on 22 May.
