Jersey is set to host one of the UK’s most popular retro music festivals for the first time this summer, with Let’s Rock bringing a celebration of 1980s music and nostalgia to People’s Park.
The festival will take place on Saturday 12 September as part of the Weekender Presents concert series, offering fans a full day of live performances, classic hits and entertainment inspired by the decade.
The event follows Alex James Britpop Classical, which opens the two-day Weekender series on Friday 11 September.
Known for celebrating the biggest sounds of the 80s, Let’s Rock has featured performances from some of the era’s most recognisable stars, including Rick Astley, The Human League, Belinda Carlisle and Jason Donovan at festivals across the UK.
The event has built a reputation for its colourful atmosphere, with thousands of fans turning up each year dressed in iconic 80s fashion, from neon outfits and shell suits to shoulder pads and retro fancy dress.
Organisers say Weekender Presents Let’s Rock Jersey will deliver a line-up packed with legendary 80s performers, alongside food and drink options and entertainment throughout the day.
Since launching in 2009, Let’s Rock has become one of Britain’s leading throwback music festivals, attracting tens of thousands of fans annually and bringing the spirit of the 1980s back to life.
