Gas Leak Prompts New Year’s Eve Evacuation Near Howard Davis Park

Island Energy prompted the evacuation of residents from a building on La Colomberie on New Year’s Eve after a gas leak was reported.
Jersey Fire & Rescue were called to the scene on 31 December to support the utility company, which was already managing a known leak in the road.
Emergency services assisted engineers by accessing unoccupied flats to take gas readings. Although Jersey firefighters were ultimately not required to take direct action, they remained on standby in case additional support was needed.
After engineers confirmed the situation was under control, Jersey Fire & Rescue were stood down.
