The new proprietor of Jersey Bowl has unveiled plans to invest thousands of pounds to modernise the long-standing entertainment venue.
Businessman Jonathan Ruff revealed on social media that he recently completed the purchase of the island facility for close to £3.5 million, pledging a programme of upgrades aimed at refreshing the experience for visitors.
Opened in 1994, the bowling centre has remained a favourite among families in Jersey, though much of its equipment now shows its age.
Ruff said the first phase of improvements would focus on resurfacing the bowling lanes, alongside refurbishing seating areas and flooring to “brighten the whole place up”.
Future plans include expanding the lower level to accommodate a larger arcade area and redesigning the reception space, drawing inspiration from UK operators such as Hollywood Bowl and Tenpin.
Renovation work is expected to begin in March. The venue will remain open to customers throughout the refurbishment period, allowing regular bowlers to continue using the facility while upgrades are carried out.
