Ten local organisations are being offered free cyber health checks as part of a new initiative aimed at strengthening Jersey’s defences against cyber crime.
The Jersey Cyber Security Centre (JCSC) has launched a pilot programme to provide tailored guidance and advice, helping businesses and charities assess their cyber resilience and identify potential vulnerabilities.
As part of the scheme, participating organisations will complete a detailed survey examining existing protective measures such as firewalls, password policies, and device security practices. Each will then receive a bespoke report offering practical steps to reduce the risk of cyber attacks.
Matt Palmer, director of the JCSC, said the programme would give organisations “clear steps they can take to better protect themselves against attacks.”
He explained that while many organisations are aware of cyber security risks, they often lack the resources or expertise to meet recognised standards.
“This initiative is designed to bridge that gap,” Mr Palmer said. “The survey defines key cyber terms and the follow-up report outlines what actions organisations can take to strengthen their defences.”
Applications for the pilot are open to organisations meeting specific criteria, with submissions required by Friday, 7 November.
Interested organisations can register by emailing hello@jcsc.je or calling 01534 500050.
