Jersey’s ferry operator has published its 2026 sailing schedule, but islanders hoping for inter-island connections will have to wait longer for details.

DFDS confirmed the new timetable includes improvements for UK and France routes, with better departure times, additional capacity during peak travel periods and expanded options for day trips. However, it has not yet finalised the inter-island schedule, which the company said it is still working on in consultation with authorities in Jersey and Guernsey.

Between November and May, only four days of fast-ferry services to the UK are currently scheduled, coinciding with the Easter holidays.

From May through August, DFDS said more than 730 sailings are planned across the Poole, Portsmouth and St Malo routes. The company has adjusted departure times to avoid early morning departures from the UK, with most sailings from Poole and Portsmouth now leaving between 9am and noon.

Revised timings for St Malo crossings have also been introduced, with DFDS claiming the changes improve overnight travel options for both Jersey residents and French visitors.

Chris Parker, DFDS’s Jersey route director, said the timetable reflected feedback from customers: “We’ve listened carefully to islanders and acted on what matters most. More crossings when people want to travel, fewer anti-social sailing times and better options for day-trips to France – these are real improvements we’re pleased to deliver.”

Despite the changes, the lack of published inter-island services is expected to remain a concern for passengers who rely on direct links between the Channel Islands.
