A passenger ferry operated by DFDS sustained damage after colliding with a harbour berth while arriving in St Helier on Sunday.
The vessel, Tarifa Jet, made contact with the berth during docking, resulting in damage to its stern. DFDS confirmed that no passengers or crew members were injured in the incident. However, the ferry’s scheduled evening sailing to St Malo was cancelled as a precaution.

DFDS and Ports of Jersey officials said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision. Inspections of both the ferry and harbour infrastructure have already begun, with further examinations planned.
The Tarifa Jet operates regular routes between Jersey, Guernsey, and St Malo. The high-speed vessel can reach speeds of up to 42 knots (78 km/h).
Measuring 285ft (86m) in length with a beam of 85ft (26m), the ferry weighs 4,995 tonnes and can carry up to 769 passengers and 145 vehicles.
