A former Roman Catholic priest who was imprisoned for child sexual abuse offences in Jersey has been granted a retrial after winning an appeal against his conviction.
Piotr Antoni Glas was found guilty by the Royal Court in April 2025 on three charges of gross indecency involving a child. The court heard that the offences were alleged to have taken place between 2004 and 2007 while he was serving as a priest on the island.
He was sentenced to five years in prison in June 2025 and placed on the sex offenders register for a decade. The conviction has now been set aside pending a retrial following the successful appeal.
