The lift on DFDS’s fast ferry Levante Jet to Poole is now operational, following months of disruption for disabled and elderly passengers.
The out-of-service lift had forced passengers with mobility needs to take alternative routes via Portsmouth, leading to widespread complaints. Delays in repairs were attributed to the need for custom-made parts.
Several travellers, including long-time Jersey visitors and wheelchair users, criticised the lack of communication and accessibility, with some saying the issue significantly affected their travel plans.
The matter was raised with the Chief Minister, and the government confirmed it is monitoring passenger feedback as part of its oversight responsibilities.
DFDS has confirmed that the ferry is once again accessible to all passengers.
