Jersey is gearing up for a major marketing campaign aimed at attracting more visitors from the UK, starting 26 December. Visit Jersey, the island's tourism authority, has announced the initiative will focus on promoting the ease of travel to the island and showcasing the variety of experiences it has to offer.
The campaign will primarily target residents near major UK airports and ferry ports, aiming to highlight how simple it is to reach Jersey for a memorable getaway. Key strategies will include eye-catching posters in high-traffic commuter areas like train stations and the London Underground, as well as a strong social media presence to engage potential tourists.
Visit Jersey emphasized that the campaign is designed to challenge outdated perceptions of the island, particularly the belief that Jersey lacks things to do. Instead, it will shine a light on the island’s vibrant outdoor activities, rich cultural heritage, and emerging food scene.
While the campaign is initially aimed at UK visitors, there are plans to expand into France and Germany, in collaboration with airlines and tour operators, further boosting Jersey's international profile.
This promotional effort comes as the latest tourism figures reveal a decline in visitor numbers for the year up to September, with 392,500 tourists, marking a drop of 79,300 compared to the same period in 2024. Despite the dip in numbers, the campaign signals a strong push to revitalize Jersey’s tourism sector and reverse the downward trend.
