Jersey's Battle of Flowers will return to its traditional home on Victoria Avenue this August, with organisers promising a celebration of colour, creativity and community spirit.

The annual floral carnival will once again host both its daytime and illuminated evening parades along the avenue after last year's event was moved to the Esplanade. Organisers previously said the alternative route proved "logistically really difficult" to manage.

The daytime parade will take place on Thursday 14 August, starting at 3pm, with gates opening shortly after midday. The popular Moonlight Parade will follow on Friday 15 August, beginning at 8.45pm, with spectators able to enter from just after 6.30pm.

Admission to both events will be free, although visitors are being encouraged to make voluntary donations to help support the future of the festival.

Organisers expect it will take around two hours for all of the decorated floats to complete the route and are advising spectators to arrive early to make the most of the celebrations.

Battle of Flowers Association chairperson Martyn Maguire thanked the volunteers, sponsors and wider community for their continued backing of the event.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to support the Battle of Flowers," he said. "The creativity and dedication that goes into every float is truly inspiring, and we're delighted to see the parade return to its iconic home on Victoria Avenue.

"This event belongs to the island, and we need everyone's support to ensure the Battle of Flowers continues to thrive for future generations."
