Organisers say this year’s Jersey International Air Display has been the hardest to arrange, but islanders can still look forward to a thrilling afternoon of aviation favourites and new highlights.
The event will take place on Thursday 11 September 2025, with displays running from 1pm to 5pm over St Aubin’s Bay.
Spectators can expect an exciting line-up including the RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team, high-speed jets, historic warbirds, and classic aircraft. Among the international additions is the Junkers JU52 3M from France – a type once used in Jersey during the occupation to transport German wounded to the underground hospital.
Also returning is the crowd-pleasing Bronco, alongside the Firecat water bomber, before the famous Red Arrows close the show in spectacular style.
On the ground, the Lower Park will host a family-friendly food court, children’s activities, and displays of both modern cars and military vehicles.
Air Display organiser Mike Higgins admitted that 2025 has been the toughest year yet to put the show together.
“We’re working hard to bring the event back to what it was before the pandemic – with more aircraft, ground activities, and static displays at Jersey Airport. But this year has been especially challenging. We’ve faced extra regulatory demands that have cost an additional £20,000,” he said.
To cover rising costs, organisers are once again appealing for public support. Islanders are encouraged to purchase official programmes, attend the static displays, or donate online via the event’s Sportsgiving page.
The static aircraft displays will be open at Jersey Airport on Wednesday from 3pm to 7pm and again on Thursday morning from 9am to 10.30am. Admission is £5 for adults, while children under 14 go free.
Island-wide airspace restrictions will be in force on both days from 12.45pm to 5pm, prohibiting the use of drones. Traffic measures will also apply, including the full closure of Victoria Avenue between 12pm and 6pm.
The forecast for Thursday points to a mix of sunshine and showers, with fresh to strong southwesterly winds.
