The percentage of patients in Jersey receiving their X-ray, CT, and MRI scan results within three days has decreased compared to the previous year.
Health Minister Tom Binet reported that in 2023, 82.83% of radiology patients received their results within the target timeframe, a decline from 87.05% in 2022.
Despite this drop, Binet emphasized that the figure still exceeded the 75% benchmark set by the UK's NHS "Getting it Right First Time" programme, which is considered a target for top-performing healthcare providers. X-rays experienced the most significant decline, with only 68.38% of results delivered within three days, down from 79.24% in the previous year.
Responding to a question from Deputy Jonathan Renouf, Binet noted that 96.31% of CT scan results were returned within the three-day window, down slightly from 97.96% in 2022.
For MRI scans, the percentage was 87.85% in 2023, a decrease from 92.56% the year before. In a written statement, Binet added that the data for 2024 would be available soon.
